The Best Low Carb 4th of July Drink!

We all love a good holiday filled with family, friends, life time memories and of course booze. As we all know, sugary drinks can really add up and mess up our diet (and our skin). So it's always a good idea to have a low sugar option for guests (or for yourself). See my favorite below!


Ginger, Grapefruit, Basil Mimosa

I love anything that has ginger in it because I have tummy troubles (thanks IBS). Sometimes sugary drinks or high caloric food make me feel nauseous so it's comforting to know there's a ginger option for my tum tum.  

1 bottle of vodka (or however much you need for your group. See footer)

1 1/2 grapefruit for cocktail and garnish

2 cups of ice 

3 x 12oz cans/bottles of ginger Kombucha

Handful of fresh basil

Simply juice one grapefruit into a container. Slice 1/2 grapefruit for garnish. Set aside. Fill a pitcher half way with ice. Pour Kombucha, fresh grapefruit juice, and vodka. Mix that ish up. Garnish with grapefruit slices and fresh basil. 

Not that you need to know this, but just in case there's extra, you can store it up to 3 weeks!

Side note: I didn't put the exact amount of vodka to put in this recipe because it's up to the person. However, my method is as follows: 1 generous shot per guest per anticipated drinks they'll have that evening. So if I have 5 people over and each have 2 drinks, I would put 10 shots of vodka in the mixture. Hope that helps! Cheers.
